Christine Charest is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. She maintains a private practice in Lewiston, Maine.
With over 15 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a graduate of University of New Hampshire specializing in marriage and family therapy, she works with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are in the treament of depression and other affective disorders, anxiety, childhood behavioral and emotional problems, marital and relationship problems around communication, trust and infidelity, and intimacy and attachment, separation and divorce, coparenting, remarriage and stepfamily concerns, illness, death and loss.
In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Christine has had a long history of leadership in the profession of marriage and family therapy as she had served between 2007-2015 on the board of the Maine Division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. As one of the leaders of this organization, she has had the opportunity to promote and represent the profession of marriage and family therapy at the state and national level.
Christine is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, neuro-psychological, structural/systemic, and narrative methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
